Meet the Ambassadors
The following gallery shows some of the live creatures that your students
will have the opportunity to meet at your bug fair. Students will learn that
these arthropods share much in common yet are distinctive species.
Some of the bugs are indigenous to the southwest and other parts of the
U.S. while most are exotic critters from Africa, Asia, and South America.
These live exhibits are only the beginning of a powerful educational
experience you can host at your school.
Why bugs?
Arthropods comprise the largest phylum in the animal kingdom. Insects
are the largest class in the animal kingdom. In fact, insects outnumber
all other animals combined. They are the most successful animals on
the planet. Because of their incredible diversity, importance, and the
mystery that surrounds these creatures, they are wonderful
ambassadors to our study of the natural world.
