KIDZNBUGZ?
Kids love bugs!  And why not?  They are strange, mysterious and everywhere.  What
exactly are they?   Arthropods outnumber all other animals combined.  Why?  How?
They have adapted to a constantly changing world for hundreds of millions of years.
Insects are the most successful group of animals on earth.  They have amazing life
cycles.  They are a vital part of the world's ecosystems.  They exemplify diversity
among living organisms.  They are valuable contributors to medical research, and
even help solve crimes!  The enthusiasm among kids and faculty has fueled an
evergrowing exhibition.  Now students have the opportunity to witness and learn
about creatures rarely seen outside their natural habitats. Based out of Clovis, New
Mexico, kidznbugz is available to districts throughout New Mexico and surrounding
areas. Kidznbugz is comitted to coordinating with schools and teachers in order to
accomodate instructional schedules and curriculum needs. The sounds of the
rainforest, stunning, exotic, live creatures, interesting visual displays, hands-on
activities and plenty of interaction all add up to one thing- an experience that won't
soon be forgotten.  It's a zoo.  It's a museum.  It's awesome.  It's Kidznbugz!

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT BUGS

Undoubtedly, students will be amazed by the many mysterious creatures the bug fair
showcases, but more importantly, a new and dynamic perspective will be born.
Teaching and learning is about  concepts.  Kidznbugz ties many aspects of life science
together to facilitate a deeper understanding ot the natural world.  Students will
begin to consider the diversity of life, the complex relationships between living
organisms and their environments, and the connections to our place in the world as
well as how our attitude and interaction influences our environment and the life
forms that depend on it.  They will learn first hand, the depth of animal adaptation,
animal classification, life cycles(up close & in the flesh), habitats, geography, food
chains/webs, conservation,  vocabulary, and much more. Students will contemplate
the causes and effects within the delicate balance of nature and will view their
environment like never before.  This program will send a charge through students'
attitude about school and learning.
ABOUT US:

My name is Troy Urban.  I am a New Mexico certified elementary teacher.  Teaching
4th, 5th, and 6th grade in the public schools,  I have shared in the fun and excitement
of the learning process and the joy of discovery among students. As a nature
enthusiast I have presented many unique subjects to my students including insects
and other arthropods. As a teacher, I have explored many ways to engage students
while teaching across the curriculum.  With a passion for life science, I have
developed the kidznbugz program with the standards in mind.  This unique program
provides a dynamic and interactive setting that
energizes the thought process, not
just about bugs, but about our world
